Acroyoga Workshop with Marc Bauchet 24/4/10- 25/4/10

The experience was mind blowing for me as it was my first time trying out Acroyoga or anything acrobatic. Since young, I have been intrigued by the acrobatics and the gymnastics and has always wondered what it felt like to be up there, being twisted or held by another's without having much control of the situation but just to trust the other person that they know what they are doing.

Well, for most of us, it was our first time in Acroyoga. Therefore, none of us had any experience flying or being a base person. I had the first opportunity to fly with Marc just before the workshop began, and honestly, I felt liberated! I felt at peace and free. Not worrying if I would fall, but that is probably because Marc was my base (the person at the bottom) I was surprised that I was able to do some of the poses I never thought I could do and it was the best experience. I tried all roles, flying, base and spotter (the person standing by the side as the safety net). I enjoyed flying more as i felt free like a bird and my mind and body free to flow. To be the base person, you need to have 100% concentration as you will have to support the weight of the flyer, balance him/her and also to co-ordinate the movements. Flying Marc weight like a tan the first time, however, with more practice, it got easier.

Whilst Marc is still in town, we are solidifying our practice by the poolside. Here are some pictures to share with you.
